Faye and Cassie are going Halloween shopping, because Cassie is planning to have a Halloween party since Jane will be out-of-town. Luke is at the store, and Faye forces Cassie to ask him to come. Cassie goes to buy a few items, and the man at the register recognizes her last name. When Cassie tells him she’s related to Amelia, he has a shocked look on his face, and then the mirror behind him breaks.

Jane tells Cassie that the owner of the shop, Wilson’s, is Calvin Wilson and he is a witch. Jane also tells her that after the fire, many witches stopped practicing or they left town. Jane then leaves to go see Henry, who is an elder, but she says she’s not going to tell about the circle.
Adam and his dad are at the lake. Adam is still mad at his dad for telling Diana that he and Cassie were meant to be together, causing Diana to break up with him.
Diana and Faye are at Cassie’s house getting ready for the party. Cassie is looking around the house for cups, when she finds a part of the blade Simone used to attack her.
She goes outside and Jake is out there. She shows Jake the blade, and says she is going to take it to an antiquity shop to see if she can find out anything about it. She gets in the car, and Jake does something magical to it to prevent it from starting, though she didn’t see it.
Jake goes to Wilson’s. He sarcastically asks Calvin if he has any witch cruets made of mandrake, blood and a personal item from the witch…once you start it on fire, the witch dies. He attacks Calvin takes his blood and wedding ring, and tells him if he tells Cassie anything, he will kill Calvin.

Cassie gets to Wilson’s, and Calvin blows her off. She “accidentally” breaks something, and when he goes in the back room, she takes a picture of a blade that is similar to hers.
Jake is at Nick’s grave, and Melissa walks up. He tells her that he isn’t there for Nick, he was there to see his parents. Melissa says she thought maybe there was a chance they could have been friends, but he says he’s nothing like the rest of them and walks away.
Cassie and Adam are trying to analyze the picture of the blade she took. Adam tells Cassie it’s his own fault that Diana broke up with him, and that he’s nothing without her. Results start to show up on the computer, and they find out that the symbols belong to a group of witch hunters.
Jake is starting cruets for each member of the circle. Jake tells the man he is working with that they have to kill the witches carefully, because if you kill a witch the wrong way, their powers can be passed on and be made stronger. The man then tells him that they are going to send some hunters with Jake to Cassie’s party…one is from out of town, and the other is Luke.

Jake pulls up and Cassie tells him that the girl lied about being a witch. He asks her if all she had was the three symbols, but Cassie realizes he only saw two when she showed him the piece of blade she had found…
Cassie tells Faye that she knows Jake knows more than he is letting on.
The party begins, and Diana blows Adam off.
Calvin approaches Adam’s dad, and tells him that Cassie was asking questions about hunters. Calvin realizes that Cassie doesn’t know who her father really is…John Blackwell. Calvin leaves and says she should know so she can protect herself.
Faye takes Jake upstairs to distract him while Cassie tries to find out more about what he knows.
Melissa is outside looking for Faye, when one of the hunters grabs her and knocks her out.
Cassie gets up to Jake’s room to snoop around..
Jake takes one of Cassie’s necklaces. Faye tells Jake she knows he’s acting differently since he got back.
Cassie finds a knife with the same symbols on it in Jake’s room, when Jake walks in…

Cassie asks Jake why he has the knife, but he says it’s not his. He shows her that he has a set of weapons, with the symbols, and says they were Nick’s. Faye walks in then, and they leave.
Calvin calls Cassie, and tells her that she is in danger…Jake sees him on the phone…
The hunter grabs Diana and knocks her out now too.
Calvin tells Jake that Cassie has dark magic inside of her, and he wants to tell her so she can fight it. Jake says he doesn’t believe people can change and uses the cruet to kill him.
A hunter comes into Cassie’s room and knocks her out too. Cassie pulls off his mask, and sees that it’s Luke.

The hunter’s take the circle back to their place, and take blood from each member of the circle. Luke tells them that like the witches, you are born a hunter, and it is passed down through families.
Jake runs up as the man, Issac, is leaving. Jake tells him they can’t kill Cassie because she has dark magic and is stronger than others, and they can’t kill her the way they are trying.
Luke is about to light Diana’s cruet, when Cassie screams “no” causing the cruet to burst. He lights her cruet, but the spell reverses and he starts on fire…somehow Cassie’s doing. The circle breaks free, and hears Jake scream…he pretends to have been attacked.

Adam again tries to work things out with Diana, but she doesn’t want to get back together yet.
Cassie tells Jake that she thinks she did magic by herself earlier that night. He leaves, and she notices mail in her mailbox, inside is a large envelope with just her name on it. When she opens it there is an old paper with symbols on it.
Jane arrives at Henry’s place, but when she walks inside, she finds he has been murdered. She grabs his crystal from it’s hiding spot, and tries a spell, but then a man runs up behind her, knocks her out, grabs the crystal and leaves.
