Supernatural 7×07 — The Mentalists (Guide)

A man, woman and medium are trying to contact the woman’s Uncle Danny. The woman is very into it, but the husband is skeptical. The lights begin to flicker, and the fire flames up as Danny starts to get angry at the man’s questions. The pointer on the Ouija board begins to float and then flies into the medium’s neck and kills her.

Dean steals a car from a parking lot, and hears about two psychics killed in Lily Dale, New York “the most psychic town in America” on the radio.

Dean arrives at the place where we saw the psychic get killed, and he finds tape recordings all around with fake ghost sounds, and also things to create ghost noises, clearly the psychic was a fake.

He then goes to a psychic reading restaurant, and he comes across Sam who he hasn’t seen for a week and a half, and Sam reluctantly agrees to stick around. A man named Nikolai and his wife approach them and offer to help them if they need it, thinking they are FBI, and says he is able to bend spoons, and leaves. Sam shows Dean that the two psychics that were killed had the same necklace…the first psychic killed, willed it to the second after her death. Sam is then about to mix the sugar into his coffee, when his spoon bends.

Sam and Dean go to see the second woman’s next of kin, Melanie. She tells them she’s not psychic, just reads body language, yet her grandma who wasn’t actually psychic either did believe it was real. She tells them that the necklace was sent to an emporium.

They arrive at the emporium, and the owner tells them the necklace is an Orb of Thesulah, and they take it.

They leave the store, and the Orb is fake.

Nikolai is at home and is playing with utensils, not psychically bending them, when all-of-a-sudden, the spoon he was using bends back on it’s own, and the others all stand up, as the lights flicker. Then he starts to rise above the table, and is dropped on top of the utensils.

Sam and Dean arrive at the scene, and one of the officers said they got 46 calls about this man’s death from claryvoints who said it was either a ghost or a Russian ogre, and he says that the Nikolai had a vision about his death as well. Melanie calls Dean…

They get back to Melanie’s house, and she tells them she found a message from her grandma, that was left several days before her death saying she was going to die. Dean tells her they are dealing with a real ghost, and Sam tells her they aren’t FBI agents.

They decide that they need to find the real psychics in town (since most are fake in town), and also say that there are enough crystal balls in town that they may be acting as antennas.

Melanie’s friend, Camille gives a Miss Cleo like reading to a woman, and afterwards she has an actual vision of her death…Dean and Melanie arrive at her house and she tells them about her vision. Dean notices she has a camera, so they go to look at what was recorded, and on the video, they see a woman ghost give Camille the vision. Melanie says she’s seen the woman before in an old photo at a museum.

Sam and Dean go to the museum, and they find out about the woman Kate Fox, who was said to be able to predict people’s death’s, while her sister, Margaret only pretended. The man then grabs Dean after Sam begins to head out, and he gets a message from Ellen, telling Dean “if you don’t tell someone how bad it really is, [I'll] kick your ass from beyond. You’ll have to trust someone again eventually.”

Dean tells Sam that he killed Amy, because Sam wouldn’t have been able to do it, and family does the dirty work for each other.

Sam and Dean are digging up Kate’s grave, when she appears and says nobody is listening to her, and they light her bones and she’s gone.

Melanie and Camille hear the news, and they go to pack a bag so Camille can stay with Melanie for the night. The clock strikes 2 though and what happened in Camille’s vison starts to happen, and the ghost appears, and kills Camille.

Sam and Dean arrive but it’s too late.

Dean realizes they burned the wrong ghost that Kate was trying to warn people about Margaret. Melanie tells them that Margaret was only concerned with killing Camille and she enjoyed it.

The guys go to dig up Margaret, but her bones aren’t there. Sam says someone used binding magic and used her bones to do it. They go back to thte car and Dean points out that all the headliners are dead for the festival…Camille was supposed to take the spot of someone.

Melanie tells Dean that she would likely be her grandma’s repalcement for the festival.

Sam goes back to the emporium, and gives Sam the address of someone who bought some of the binding spell items.

Dean puts Melanie in a salt circle.

Sam arrives at the address, but it’s clearly not the right address.

Sam calls Dean to tell him that the emporium owner is the one who did the binding spell. He goes back to the store, but it’s locked up.

Sam gets inside and finds the altar for the spell. The owner walks up behind him and puts a gun to his head.

Sam manages to get the gun away.

Margeret begins to try to get inside to try to kill Melanie.

The owner tells Sam that he is the real deal like Margaret was, but people are scarred of him, and Margaret wasn’t pretty enough, so people wouldn’t watch her.

Dean continues to try to get rid of Margaret, and Sam tries to get the man to tell him where the bones are. Sam realizes they are in the bedroom, and and he shoots and kills the man.

Margaret starts strangling Melane, but Sam burns the bones in time.

Sam and Dean are back at the restaurant, and Melanie walks in, and Sam walks outside. She thanks him and says goodbye.

Dean goes outside, and he and Sam reconcile. Sam tells him that he understand why he killed Amy, but he shouldn’t have lied about it, and Dean says he’s been acting oddly because he hated lying to Sam.
