At Jess’ school, a Thanksgiving musical is being put on with Jess as the turkey. A guy, Paul, approaches her in a gourd costume to thanks her for helping backstage. He also tells her he usually spends Thanksgiving with his grandma, but she passed away.
Jess walks into the apartment with a turkey, but the guys says they aren’t having Thanksgiving, just watching football and going to Best Buy on Black Friday. She then tells them that Paul, a teacher from her school, is coming for Thanksgiving with them, and she then pulls out Hank her turkey that they are eating for Hanksgiving.

Winston tells them that they need to make sure Paul works well with them because he could become a fifth roommate. Jess tells Schmidt if he will help her get the dinner ready, she will invite Cece for him.
The turkey isn’t thawing, and Jess has no idea how to thaw it…she tries laying on it, but then decides to throw it in the dryer. Paul arrives to the apartment, and he and Jess do a song together.
Jess pulls Nick aside and tells him not to be mean, and he agrees he’ll help Jess try to “wow” Paul.
Paul tells Winston it’s intimiadting to hangout with Jess since she has three male roommates.
Schmidt and Cece are preparing dinner together, and he starts freaking out about germs.
Half time comes on, and Paul changes the channel to the Thanksgiving day parade. Winston pulls out some pictures of his grandpa who died a year ago, and he and Paul bond over it. Schmidt needs some more walnuts, so Paul volunteers to go, but says he had two pumpkin ales so he shouldn’t drive, so Jess volunteers Nick to go with him.
Cece puts potatoes on Schmidt’s nose, and he freaks out. Paul and Nick arrive back at the apartment, and Paul tells Jess he doesn’t think Nick likes him very much. The dryer starts on fire, and Schmidt goes to resuce the turkey.
They can’t clear out the smoke, so the guys decide to go to the bar. Paul convinces them to stay, and Jess says their neighbor gave them a key for emergencies, so they will just use her place. Jess pulls Nick aside again, and yells at him for being rude to Paul, and tells him all the things she wants to do sexually with Paul. Winston comes out and tells them they heard everything that was said. Jess comes back inside and says they were trying to reherse a play Nick is writing…

Schmidt is finishing preparing the meal, and Cece watches and tells Jess she might be into him and the rage he has inside. Paul’s works on tuning his violin, and approaches Nick, and tells Nick that Nick dislikes himself more than he dislikes him (Paul). Cece goes over to Schmidt and puts her fingers in the pudding to rile Schmidt up.
Paul asks Jess if anything every happened between her and Nick, and when she says no, he tells her he wants to see her again.
Schmidt finishes dinner, and Paul runs down the hallway screaming dead body…the woman whose apartment they are in had died.

The guys, Jess, and Cece are waiting in line at Best Buy, when Paul walks up playing his violin. Nick gives up his spot in line for Paul, but he says he’ll go to the end, so Jess goes with him, but then the rest of the group decides to go too, and they end up watching as Jess and Paul sing and dance away.
