Today previously unseen footage from The Amazing Spider-Man set to be released this July 3rd was released in select cities. The previews which drew huge crowds were advertised with the Spider-Man logo, followed by a web address (theuntoldstory.com) being posted on iconic buildings in the selected cities. Entertainment Weekly reports that when asked what the showing of the logos was for, “in New York City, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, Madrid, London, Berlin, Seoul, and Tokyo, Sony Pictures only offers a coy no comment. But the studio is happy to brag that the videos accrued over 1 million views in 48 hours, and many of the screenings sold out in a matter of minutes. ‘We didn’t do any other advertising of these events,’ says Marc Weinstock, head of worldwide marketing for Sony Pictures. ‘It was just those images.’”
A Youtube video was compiled of the various locations. Check it out below the cut!!!
So what was revealed at these events? Footage of Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) and Peter (Andrew Garfield) together, some big spoilers, as well as a preview of the Lizard. Check out the following links to find out more!!
