CW’s Cult Casting News and Freddie Prinze Jr. Cast in NBC Pilot

matt_davis_the_vampire_diariesMatt Davis known for his role as Alaric Saltzman in the CW’s hit series, The Vampire Diaries will be leaving the show to star as the male lead in Cult (haven’t heard of it…click here to read about it) which will air on the same network. Deadline reports that Davis, who will be playing a journalist blogger in the upcoming series, will still be available for guest appearances in future seasons of TVD.

So, what does this mean for his character on TVD? Guess we’ll have to wait and find out…with the way TVD works, it’s possible his character will die and come back as a ghost from time to time. reported that Freddie Prinze Jr. has joined an NBC pilot comedy from Happy Endings and Community writer Hilary Winston. The show “focuses on a shy, focused woman (Sarah Wright) who leans on her co-workers to help her come out of her shell while she plots revenge after being dumped by her fiancé (Prinze Jr.)…Mena Suvari, Kyle Howard, Aubrey Dollar and Joanna Kerns will also star.”

Prinze Jr.’s last comedy Freddie didn’t do so well, so maybe he’ll have more luck with this series. He also had a role on 24 last season. His wife Sarah Michelle Gellar currently stars in the series Ringer on the CW.

  1. It’s funny how people’s careers affect the storylines of shows.
