CBS was the first to pull the plug on one of it’s new shows this season. Made in Jersey was cancelled after only two episodes. According to TVLine, “In its second week, Jersey shed nearly 30 percent of its premiere week demo rating (dropping to a CW-like 0.8).”
ABC Family has announced that the currently airing fifth season of The Secret Life of an American Teenager, will be it’s last. The show will return for the second half of season five come Spring of 2013. Teen pregnancy was one of the main storylines that the show centered on in it’s early seasons.
NBC has announced that it will be holding off on the season premieres for both Whitney and Community. Moviepilot.com reports that, “NBC plans to focus all their promotional strength on the shows that run Monday through Wednesday, which means both comedy shows are not premiering on October 19th as originally planned. NBC released this official statement:
Given the success we’ve had for the past four weeks — including winning the first week of the season in A18-49 — we’ve decided to continue to concentrate our promotional strength on our new NBC shows that are scheduled Monday through Wednesday and have therefore decided to hold Community and Whitney from their previously announced premieres of October 19th. Without having to launch these comedies on Friday at this time, we can keep our promotion focused on earlier in the week — plus we will have both comedies in our back pocket if we need to make any schedule changes on those nights. When we have a better idea of viewing patterns in the next few weeks, we will announce new season premieres of Whitney and Community.”
